Description: This is the front section of the August 14. 1965 issue of the Los Angeles Times newspaper. **THIS IS NOT THE FULL NEWSPAPER - IT IS THE FULL FIRST SECTION OF THE NEWSPAPER (PAGES 1 THROUGH 18). August 14th, 1965 was the week of the Watts Riots. A good portion of these first 18 pages feature various local and national stories to do work the then-ongoing riots. See photos to view the headlines of various stories included. Photo 11 included shows a small but cool photo of the Beatles included towards the back of the newspaper section - a movie photo "still" from their then-upcoming film "Help!". There is also a short but cool story about the "return of Rockabilly-style dancing" on the L.A. scene, at Gazzari's nightclub on Sunset Blvd (later a hair metal club in the '8os!) (see photo 12 to view beginning of short article). **The newspaper is folded horizontally in the center, as it would have been when it was purchased originally. This horizontal fold has a light amount of age yellowing, and a handful of small 1/2 inch paper tears. These are minor flaws. You can see these tiny tears in the final photo seen here. The newspaper is in very nice condition otherwise, very clean for its age, with very little shelf or age wear, and very little if any wear or tearing on edges. It's looks real nice! Thankfully, whoever owned it stored it well for decades. **PLEASE NOTE THAT I will be shipping this by lightly folding the newspaper once more (vertically) and shipping it in a corrugated cardboard LP mailer, with bubble wrap reinforcement. I will try to fold it lightly.* *PLEASE SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR MANY MORE MUSIC COLLECTABLES - including more rare, historical newspaper!!* Thank you!
