Description: LARGE ~ Antique ~ STANLEY LONDON ~ Vintage ~ Brass TELESCOPE ~ with Original Wooden/Brass Tripod / Stand. A very nice Nautical look to it. I always have wanted one of these and have enjoyed it for many years and have now decided to pass it on. I am not an expert by any means but will describe it as best I can. I believe most all the hardware is original accept for the 2 golden screws/bolts that mount the scope to the tripod. I am not sure if the bottom lens should be able to be pushed in all of the way because it does not. I have included photos of it extended and pushed in. “Stanley London” is written in script which I have seen are read is the early logo. Also a there is no writing on the brass tripod plates signaling a much older piece. I have mostly enjoyed this piece for the ascetics but I do believe it is functional. At least somewhat functional! Maybe someone who actually knows how to use one would have better luck than me! I have tried looking at the moon with it but it was a blurry light. I am sure this scope is a fixed focal length and perhaps meant for further distant objects like stars. Legs could stand to be refinished. Measurements: Scope - 43 1/2” fully extended (pictured) 47” floor to top of tripod (pictured) 63” floor to top of telescope (with legs fully extended - pictured) ***Shipping is me taking the scope off the mount. This will make it cheaper to ship because it will not be as long. The screws and bolts that mount the scope probably should be a little bigger too. Sometimes I have to screw them back in again after raising and lowering the scope.
