Color, shape, design and dimensions are correct for Bing & Grøndahl, as are the seahorse handles which are seen on the Seagull pattern and others. No surface decoration to match to a specific pattern and no mark on base. The tureen comes from an estate containing a very large Bing & Grøndahl collection. This piece, together with a gravy boat with attached underplate which is listed separately, are the only unmarked pieces. Upon very close inspection, there is a tiny "dimple"-like indentation on one side of the body, almost impossible to see with the naked eye. No other flaws observed so perhaps that may be the reason for the tureen not being marked. But it is not officially a second either because Bing & Grøndahl seconds are marked in a very distinctive way, it is almost as if this was pulled pre-decoration. Regardless, the tureen is attractive, functional, heavy and displays very well, as depicted. Please note that shipping will be relatively high on this item due to its weight and the size of the box needed to accommodate it.
