Description: This large embroidered Knight Grand Cross Most Honourable Order of the Bath (GCB) (Military) breast star is a rare find from the 1700s-1800s. Established in 1752, this is one of the early stars. It features intricate embroidery and is a true testament to the craftsmanship of that era. It is 10 inches or 254mm wide. Made with bright silver, narrow band, silver and gilt sequines, twisted silver thread, crimson velvet and color threads, partially preserved backing of thick paper. A very rare, surely worn star. The item is an original piece from the United Kingdom. The star is in very good condition and would make a unique addition to any collection. It is an original piece believed to be manufactured in the United Kingdom and from a senior Army or Naval officer from the American Revolution or Napoleonic Wars.
