Description: Larrivee C-10 model 6-string acoustic flat-top guitar (1993) ATTENTION GUITAR COLLECTORS & AFFICIONADOS - I am the original and only owner of this very rare and special 6-string acoustic guitar. I bought it brand new from Corner Music in Nashville, TN in'93. There were only a few of these made. The tone is incredibly warm, rich and well-balanced; and the neck is quite simply the best neck I’ve ever played on any acoustic guitar in my 30-years as a professional guitarist. It’s that good. Put a studio mic on it and it is nothing short of magic. Its bridge pickup also sounds excellent, which is not always the case with acoustic guitars. I have kept this guitar in exceptional condition, especially for a 27-year-old guitar. It has been well-played over the years so it does have a few minor blemishes and normal wear from use, but they are few and they are standard for a guitar of its age. The most obvious one is the pick wear at the edge of the right side of the sound hole. There is also typical pick wear on the spruce top near the top (left) of the sound hole. Standard wear. This summer, I had an appraisal done by George Gruhn, world-renowned guitar seller/ appraiser. The appraisal will be included along with its original hard-shell case. Free Shipping Direct pickup of this instrument is recommended if possible but I will ship it anywhere in the United States (except Hawaii and Alaska). No international shipments. No exceptions. The following is taken directly from the 2021 Gruhn appraisal – About this instrument: We certify the instrument described below is, in our opinion, a custom-order Larrivee C-10model acoustic flat-top guitar, made in the year 1993. This instrument features a number of custom-order upgrades from the base model, including the following items: Brazilian rosewood back and sides, “Jester” peghead inlay, and “torch and wing” pattern fingerboard inlay. The owner has identified a number of modifications, as described above. Otherwise, upon examination, we note that this guitar appears cosmetically and structurally to be in fine condition. In other respects, this instrument conforms to the typical specifications of the model for the period in which it was made with 16” wide single Florentine cutaway flat-top body, Sitka spruce top, clear plastic pickguard, multi-ply white & black sound hole rosette with abalone center ring, “lower belly” style ebony bridge with drop-in saddle and mother-of-pearl inlay, black bridge pins with abalone center dots, mahogany neck with white heel cap, individual chrome-plated sealed Schaller tuners with metal buttons, 20-fretebony fingerboard with single-ply grained ivoroid edge binding, multi-ply white& black edge binding with Brazilian rosewood exterior play and abalone edge trim on body top, and multi-ply light & dark wood edge binding on body rear. In August 2021, Glaser Instruments of Nashville, Tennessee installed bridge pick up with separate volume knob mounted inside sound hole, installed strap buttons, and replaced frets 1 through 6 with a subsequent PLEK fret dress.
