ABOUT Laughing Moon LLC (Toymakers collection) Richard and Terrie Floyd have making Whimsical pendulum clocks, jumping jacks and fine wood inlay jewelry and wood functional art and sculpture together since 1970.Terrie has been a painter ever since she could hold a brush and as an art major at Mount St Mary's college in CA, she had more fun cutting up canvas and making puzzles and kinetic art out of her paintings. Terrie had a very strong affinity for Folk art and kinetic art of all kinds. This was fostered when she studied with Corita Kent at Immaculate Heart in the 1960's. The clocks and jumping jacks reflect that background.And to make a long story short Terrie had been creating (toys & Clocks as art) ever since 1967. When Terrie met her husband Richard in 1970, he brought the whole picture together with his fine woodworking, creative ideas and artistic skills and that is how this business started.Richard has been making some beautiful assorted exotic wood cuffs inlaid with abalone, lapis, turquoise and some metals and shells and we have recently added some to our site We have been collaborating on turned and inlaid wood bowls with multi layered resin hand painted scenes.
