Description: At auction is a 4"x 5" Black and White Copy Negative from the archives of noted Realist photographer HENRYK SCHAFER, who was active from about 1930 thru 1970. Henryk provided photos for the Chicago Tribune, Acme News, and United Press International (UPI). He also provided photos for Dziennik Zwiazkowy (Polish Daily News), the largest and oldest Polish language newspaper in the world. A large body of Henryk's work was produced in and around Chicago. At the time this photo was taken in 1954, the paint was fresh. Perhaps, 68 years later, it is now a "ghost" sign? This is possibly on the building which housed the American Federation of Laborers, as it was found with the other lot of photos we currently have up for auction that were taken on this date, during which time Richard J. Daley was campaigning for mayor at the A.F. of L. headquarters in Chicago. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
