Delarue was born in Paris and studied at the Grand Chaumiere, including some time with Yves Brayer. He is a member of the French Watercolor Society and his works can be found in the Museum of Ile de France in the Chateau of Sceauz. The municipalities of Clichy and Paris have purchased his works. Today he is certainly one of the most well-known artists in France. He is known today for oil and watercolor paintings of familiar and much loved Parisian scenes, as well as cottages, harbors, and rivers. This watercolor is very fresh and clean. Note the mood in the street, painted with a flickering talented brush.
