Description: Burros in Front of the Leadville Daily Journal Leadville, Colorado This antique cabinet card photo shows two burros, mama and baby, in front of the offices of the Leadville Daily Journal in Leadville, CO. According to the Guide to Colorado Newspapers, this publication was in existence from 1885-1888. There's lettering on the door toward the left of the photo that reads LEADVILLE DAILY JOURNAL. The city directory for Leadville at the time placed the location of their offices at 108 and 110 W. 5th. The photo has some text that appears toward the lower-right. There's the number 407. Underneath this it reads, HERE'S WHERE WE LIVE, BRISBOIS PHOTO, LEADVILLE. The city directory also includes a Brisbois Photo Gallery which was located at 501 and 503 Harrison Avenue. Measures 6 7/16" x 4 3/16" Overall discoloration from age and some wear to corners and edges. Please see the images provided, as they're part of the description.
