Description: These rings are a great way to spruce up your African violets. They are green plastic collars that slide up from the base of your flowerpot to the rim. A rubber band grips the rim of the flowerpot and holds the ring in place. The rings can easily be added to a plant that is already potted. The leaf support ring will gently hold the leaves and stems of your violet off of the rim of the flowerpot. This support will prevent the leaf stems from being damaged by the pot rim, and will also train the leaves into a more perfectly symmetrical pattern. There are nine pegs on the lower surface of each ring. A rubber band hooks onto the three pegs of your choice creating a triangular opening. Each ring can be adapted to fit a flowerpot from 2 ½ “ diameter up to 6” diameter. A 6” diameter pot is the largest that this size leaf support ring will fit. The pegs can be removed at the breakaway lines visible on the under surface of the rings. For 3” or for 3 ½ “ pots no pegs need be removed. For 4” up to 6” pots you will need to remove pegs. The bigger the pot on which you want to use a ring, the more pegs you remove. You can still use a ring on a smaller pot after you have removed the pegs necessary to make it fit a larger pot. Use a twist tie (they usually come with trash bags) to make the triangular opening smaller again. See the photo “on a 3” pot”. The photos show rings on a 4” pot with pegs removed, and on a 3” pot with the triangular opening made smaller with twist ties. The pots in the photo are not included in the auction, nor are the twist ties. New rubber bands and detailed instructions are included. Violet growers generally use these 9” leaf support rings on African violets that are 12 inches or less in diameter growing in pots that are 6” or less in diameter. This listing is for 3 nine inch leaf support rings, three rubber bands, and an instruction sheet. No live plants are included. These rings are made from recycled plastic. The color changes somewhat with each production run. The rings are currently a dark green color. Some photos show rings from previous runs where the color was olive green.
