Description: Lemond Tete de Course, 2004, Unique Paint and Decals, Restored, Dure Ace 7800, 57cm Discovered this frame on Ebay several years ago. Fork and chain stays were pretty beat up but the top tube, down tube and seat tube and most important their decals were well preserved. I've owned numerous Lemonds and have never seen any Lemond remotely like this. There are some decals that were on the early Lemond Team Z bikes but others that I've never elsewhere. The bike's paint is obviously from Lemond given the fades used from one color to the other. To restore this bike, I had a local paint shop spec the paint on the bike and make up matches to it. Then I restored the forks and chain stays. Obviously, I could not match the fades on these so used bike tape at places where the colors transitioned. Also, replaced the decals on the front and rear forks. Could not find the side decals for the front fork and so replaced them with similar new decals. I then touched up the top, down tube and seat tubes.
