Description: LIBER LIBRORUM. Stockholm: Royal Library, 1955. Large hardcover (a fold-out linen case) containing unbound, loose-leaf typographic specimens of varying formats and sizes (booklets, pamphlets, single sheets, etc.) by an international army of typographers and book designers. Includes a short introductory booklet which lists each of the book artists involved, and 42 of the original 43 typographic specimens (one is missing). Published in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Gutenberg Bible, with each of the artists involved printing the first chapter of the Book of Genesis in their own inimitable style. Good condition. The case, which folds open and shut on four sides, has some modest wear and light dust-soiling. Some of the typographic specimens, which are loose-leaf and unbound, have edge-wear, foxing, and dust-soiling. A unique work, highlighting some of the most talented typographers and book designers of the 20th Century. FREE ECONOMY SHIPPING to the United States.
