Description: From Wikipedia: "L'Illustration was a weekly French newspaper published in Paris from 1843 to 1944. It was founded by Édouard Charton with the first issue published on 4 March 1843, it became the first illustrated newspaper in France then, after 1906, the first international illustrated magazine; distributed in 150 countries." This listing is for the April 10 1937 issue, featuring a cover ILLUSTRATION OF AN ANTIQUE FRENCH MAP OF THE EASTERN HALF OF THE UNITED STATES. This is a special issue, apparently, with the history of France in America an unpaginated article beginning the magazine. There are 5 leaves, 10 pages to this article, then regular magazine pagination begins on p. 371 and goes to page 404. There is light cover edge and corner wear, small tear to paper bottom of spine, binding is solid throughout. There is light foxing on the cover and some of the glossy pages. There was some slight stickiness on some of the pages and when i carefully separating a handful of adjoining pages, some of the surface of the paper from one of the pages remained stuck on the adjoining page. This happened about 5 times with minimal, but some, loss of information. Still, overall the magazine has GREAT INTERIOR PHOTOS AND ILLUSTRATIONS. MAG
