Description: Lionel #282R Magnetic -Triple Action Crane · Magnificent accessory produced only in 1956! Modern Era 282R is not the same crane, uses "can motors". The 282R was re-engineered with angled motor for more realistic operation. Internal motor grounding through spool. Cab is one piece with smokestack molded in cab, all-in-one one. Cab "L" clips versus screws. Cab is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks! · Crane operates 360 degrees – magnet raises/lowers and energized through controller · Motor has been totally checked out; including bearings, armature, field coil and replaced brushes. All mechanical parts have been cleaned, oiled/lubed with synthetic lubricants. Motor is strong and will last for many years with proper care and maintenance. · Magnet is the plated version (normally found with anodized black finish in early model. · Magnet is strong and cable leads are harnessed. (see photos) · Controller wiring has been replaced with 5 feet of correct FC5 grey wiring.· Controller is in excellent good condition with no chips, cracks, or breaks. Pease note shift levers have added bright red controller knobs! Crane Base has great color with no cracks, or bowed legs. · Also added are boom pulley and guy wire too provide realistic appearance. · Note: Unfortunately Lionel removed these decorative and functional items as the years rolled by to save production cost. · Crane shows very minor signs of use. · Copy of operating instructions is included, and a personal letter regarding operating tips and maintenance. Crane is all original (except for noted above) and operates as good as, if not better, than new!! You will be proud to add this accessory to your collection or layout.
