SUBSCRIBE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION This is an Antique oil painting on canvas 19 century depicting a portrait of a British Gentleman by Listed British-Irish Artist Samuel West (1810-1860).Condition is - excellent for painting this age. Dated 1860 and signed on the middle right side. No holes, no cracks. Presented in a golden frame. Face painted very realistically - Please look at photos to see the details. Please read some interesting biography facts about Samuel West:Samuel was born in Cork in about 1810. He was a portrait and historical painter. He probably commenced his art training in Cork, but early in life he went abroad and studied in Rome. He was in London in 1840, when he sent three pictures to the Royal Academy, and with few intervals, he continued as an exhibitor until 1867. He also sent works to the British Institution between 1840 and 1850. In 1847 he made his only contribution to the Royal Hibernian Academy. In 1851 he was living in Southwark, Surrey. In 1871 he was living at Winterbourne, Gloucestershire.
