I loved our MC An Zhe, he was such a interesting character to follow. He is described as a bystander by other characters. And I have to say that’s quite accurate description of him. He views humanity in such an interesting way but by the end I think he’s starting to be more human. At least emotionally. Then we have Colonel Lu Feng. Omg what character. This man whole thing so complex. Yet despite everything that happens in the story. He still is so human. He’s trying so hard to be good but the world would say otherwise. This novel really gets into some heavy topics. I found myself questioning everything. It was such a great read. I’m starting book 2 right away. 2-Little Mushroom: Revelations Book 2 If anyone is wondering what book to read next, I highly recommend these. It tells the story of a little mushroom as it learns different human emotions and traits while navigating around the human settlement at the time when the human race is fighting against extinction. It may be post-apocalyptic and sad but it's nonetheless ROMANTIC.
