Circa 1972. We deal in a great deal of Latin music records but in our opinion no other Latin singer or group comes close to rivaling Del Parana's tenure with Los Paraguayos. There combined musical skill and compositions were brilliant! The music can best be described as Andean influenced latin jazz with infusions of afro funk, salsa, merengues and Northern Soul. The band never became as famous as other latin performers of the 1960's and 70's as Del Parana passed away far too young. This particular release is amongst the groups harder titles to find and their only sole-USA release while Del Parana was still alive. The front cover photo, with the band decked out in Motown inspired jumpsuits along with accordians and harps, gives you an idea of the innovative musicians they were.
