Description: Lot of 2 Bound Munsey’s Magazines: Vol's XXIX and XXX (April 1903-September 1903, and October 1903-March 1904). Published by The Frank A Munsey Company; Hardbound with gilt lettering (7x9.5”); b&w ils; 960 and 956 pgs respectively, plus an unpaginated Index (Table of Contents) for each Volume The Index for Volume 29 is at the end of the numbered pages, and the Index for Volume 30 is at the beginning of that volume. ---Munsey's Magazine, founded by Frank Munsey in 1889, included both fiction and non-fiction, covering art, music and the theater, and celebrities. It is credited with being the first mass-market magazine, and many popular writers have appeared in its pages. Condition notes: Gilt on both book covers is still bright on the fronts. Gilt elements on spines are still very good, but showing wear hints (see first and second pics). Both books show some surface/edge wear and a little staining and their spines have darkened a bit. Text blocks are tight, but Volume 30 has hinge endpaper separation in the front, except for an inch or so at the bottom (see last pic), so that front cover is a little loose. Pages have age toned somewhat, but fairly uniformly across each page and across all the pages in both volumes. Please see the pictures for more information about these Munsey's Magazines and the conditions of these bound copies. ► We are thinning contents of our smoke-free, pet-free home. Books will be listed, plus toys including CCG and trading cards, fabric/wallpaper sample books, jigsaw puzzles, jewelry, household items and maybe some of my fishing and workshop stuff.
