They are brand new, however, they were out of the original factory box when we received them. We have no idea what they are, but they "ought to be good for something." They are made from some kind of very tough plastic. Don't know if it is Nylon or Polypropylene or what, but it is extremely resistant to breakage. The screw holes are about right to accept a large drywall screw.
