Description: DTL preceded TTL, and TTL was designed in 1964. Here are 8 very early DTL logic IC’s made by National Semiconductor, all more than 50 years old. What makes them special is they all have gold plated leads. Gold plated leads made IC’s more corrosion resistant and were offered only on the earliest logic integrated circuits. Early IC’s were expensive, and gold was affordable. Note the simple “NS” printed on each chip instead of the later refined logos, indicating a young National Semiconductor.
