Serial number 160102 built in 1913 This incredible stunning and elegant beauty with the exquisite rococo style and wonderful sound of the Steinway grand piano was restored in the early 2000’s from the legendary David Abell, the “Music Vendor to the Stars”, on Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, Ca. David Abell’s clients included Steven Spielberg, Andre Previn, Stevie Wonder, John Williams, Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett to name just a few. The piano has been fully restored including: The pin block strings and tuning pins were replaced The soundboard refinished and the bridges recapped The string frame has been refinished The hammers and hammer shanks have been replaced. The original repetitions have been retained as have the original ivory key tops. It is large enough to satisfy those who enjoy a full rich sound of a 6 ft. grand yet sized to fit in almost any home. The model 0 is the largest of the small grand 5’10” and is referred to as the living room grand. (The current model 0’s are now 5’7” and they do not compare to the sound of this grand) This is the perfect home piano for the Steinway grand experience for a piano under 6 feet. This piano features a rich and full sound . The best Steinways ever made were built between 1890-1940, known as Steinway’s Golden Era.
