In the field of rarities, we sold a private pressing of 2 78rpm recordings of Max Steiner's 1930s film music to "King Kong" for $300 in 1974, a sealed Bernard Herrmann '7th Voyage of Sinbad' for $375 in 1975, thousands of rare soundtracks at $100 or more; and capped off with a record-setting price for a soundtrack LP in 1989 with the sale of the 'mother lode' of rarest soundtracks-- Max Steiner's 'withdrawn' RCA release of "The Caine Mutiny" VG+ condition for $10,000!
