Description: THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1938, 2 SIDED, ADVERTISEMENT MINI POSTER STYLE, TAKEN FROM A FILM INDUSTRY PUBLICATION OF THE PERIOD SENT TO MOVIE THEATER OWNERS, TO PROMOTE FILMS, FOR "THE TOY WIFE" STARRING LUISE RAINER (TWO TIME OSCAR WINNER), MELVYN DOUGLAS, AND ROBERT YOUNG. 9.25" X 12" WITH BRIGHT SILVER BACKGROUND ON ONE SIDE AND BRIGHT GOLD HIGHLIGHTS ON THE OTHER SIDE, AND ON HEAVY STOCK PAPER. 3 SETS OF SMALL STAPLE HOLES AT THE RIGHT BORDER, OTHERWISE GOOD CONDITION. A tale of love, deceit and unbridled passion, it is set in the Louisiana of the mid 1800s, before the outbreak of the Civil War, and is clearly a product of the bandwagon begun in 1936 with the publication of Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind. There were only two more films (The Great Waltz and Dramatic School), both also released in 1938, before she reached the end of the line and the end of her Hollywood career
