He worked alongside Frank Lloyd Wright at Louis Sullivan's office, then worked as Wright's chief draftsman on many of Wright's most important early works. Drummond's design for a home for Ralph Baker has a luminous and crystalline elegance. The centrally placed living room connects with all the major spaces of the house. It's soaring double height ceiling contrasts with the lower ceiling of the sun porch. At the upper level a wrap around balcony gives access to 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This house design is very easily adapted to today's needs. It would be most suited for a flat site with good views.
