As noted above, the Bowl measures 5 3/4" in diameter & 2 3/4" tall. The Cup measures 3 1/4" tall & 2 3/8" in diameter (from edge to edge at the opening). Both Cup & Bowl are made of glazed white stoneware clay that was fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. They feel good in the hand and look festive on the table. Dishwasher safe. My pottery explores our connections with the natural world, which take us to places inside ourselves where words cannot follow. The pots and jewelry look like they are growing out of the earth, and just about to dance. My work is primarily vessels, sculpture and jewelry in flowing shapes that liven the eye and feel good in the hand. Pottery is formed with a combination of wheel throwing, hand manipulation and carving, then fired with expressive, often swirling glazes. Sterling silver is shaped with hammers, anvils and jeweler’s tools, then torch soldered with propane and oxygen. I have been a potter since 2002, when I decided to apply my 25 years of stringed instrument making and woodcarving experience to a new medium. I was a Master Gardener with the local extension service for 14 years and still maintain a greenhouse and large vegetable and flower garden. For over 30 years I have earned my living as a self-employed musician singing the songs and playing the traditional music of England, Scotland and the United States.
