Early, week 28 of 1984 production, with a 400k internal floppy disk drive and the original 128k of memory. This particular 1984 Macintosh is one of the earlier Macintoshes and one of the rare such models in its original configuration without upgrades. This Mac, and its peripherals are in excellent, condition. Everything is very clean, with some typical light yellowing that affects plastics of that time period. This is a very rare find... unlike many Macs being offered which are dusty, dirty and filthy; when acquired, this computer started out very clean and has since been thoroughly detailed. From what I could see, other than some faint use marks, the system has no cracks, no chips, no dents, no missing parts, no stickers, no sticker residue, no marker writings, no engravings and no pry marks. It looks absolutely amazing! The bundle was recently dusted and cleaned. The analog board of the Mac has been RECAPPED with high quality electrolytic capacitors and all critical solder joints on the analog board have been reflowed to avoid the typical video issues affecting this model after many years of continuous use. The screen is clear, bright, stable and sharp with no screen burn-in and no scratches. The logic board looks all original with all chips carrying date codes consistent with the production date of this computer. The correct, early, “A” version of the ROMs is installed. The memory chips are the original soldered chips with the Apple logo - not socketed like some units that were upgraded to 512k and then downgraded to 128k. The computer starts up normally, with a loud Apple bong. Audio is loud and clear. Both, the internal and the external, 400KB floppy drives have been recently disassembled, serviced, cleaned of old grease and lubricated; the drives' head has been cleaned – the drives load, read, write, format, and eject, single-sided floppy disks as intended. Original Macs are completely dependent on the floppy drives, as there is no supported hard drive - so having a properly serviced and tested floppy disk drives, like these, is essential for actual use; also having two drives reduces continuous disk swapping and wear and tear on the drives' mechanicals. This listing includes the 1984 Macintosh 128k (M0001) in excellent condition, the original Apple keyboard (M0110) in excellent condition, an Apple mouse (M0100) in excellent condition, the original coiled keyboard cable with undamaged connector clips, the Apple power cord with Apple logo (correct, bottom-angled power cord), the rare Apple numeric keypad (M0120) in excellent condition, the original un-stretched numeric keypad coiled cable with undamaged connector clips, the rare Apple 400KB external floppy drive (M0130) in excellent condition and an Apple carrying bag in very good condition. The keyboard has been disassembled, dusted and cleaned. It is also fully tested - all keys function as intended. The mouse has been cleaned, including the internal rollers, sensors and ball - it works perfectly. The numeric keypad has been disassembled cleaned and tested - all keys work as intended. The Apple carrying bag includes the often missing shoulder strap - the bag's zipper, Velcro and snaps all work as they should; the bag's plastic feet are still present and in good condition. The rubber pads are still present and in good condition on the base of the computer, underneath the keyboard, underneath the numeric keypad and underneath the external floppy drive. The long depleted, expensive and hard to source clock/PRAM backup battery has been replaced by a fully functional, 3D-printed, replacement battery holder designed to use cheap and readily available LR-44 button cells (not included). With either the original battery model or this holder with three cells, the computer can keep time and stored parameters even when unplugged. A working copy (not Apple-original) of a 400KB system boot disk is also included as well as a few disks with different apps and games (not all programs tested and confirmed working with this Mac). All items in this listing were stored in a smoke-free, climate-controlled, environment - no corrosion, no musty smells and no cigarette smoke smells absorbed by any of the included items. Unlike many vintage 1984 Macs being sold, lacking system details, lacking technical descriptions, lacking pictures of the internals, in a condition of: "as-is", "untested", "for repair or restoration", "no boot disk to test" / "does not boot" / "screen with disk and question mark" (hidden upgrade?), "original model number" (means absolutely nothing, as most original 128Ks were upgraded!), no functional details, no logic board details, no memory details, no upgrade details, no floppy drive details, this is a restored, recapped, serviced, tested and fully documented, working computer in excellent condition. The "Apple Macintosh" was officially released on January 24, 1984 and just turned 40 in January of this year! This particular Macintosh, is an early production unit with serial number F4284Z4M0001- it is the 5750th Mac manufactured during the 28th week of 1984 (i.e. the week of July 9th, 1984) in Fremont, California, USA. If you're looking for an early, highly collectible, restored and fully functional Mac, here is a great opportunity to acquire one... complete with all of its most common peripherals. This early production model, in this particular, unmodified, configuration, is quite scarce and finding one which is in clean cosmetic condition, restored, tested and functional... and with many early and rare peripherals such as this unit, is not easy... This Macintosh is ready for prominent display and use by its new owner! You will not be disappointed! This is a fantastic opportunity for a serious collector to acquire a unique bundle consisting of a working original 1984 Macintosh computer with associated peripherals from the early days of the personal computer. This is one of a handful of Apple models which have the signatures of the design team (including Steve Jobs') molded on the inside of the case. All photos are of the exact items the buyer will receive. Considering its age, and despite it having been extensively tested, it IS 40+ years old technology and as such, I cannot guarantee continued functioning. This lot is being sold “as-is” without any guarantee, offered or implied; no returns accepted. This lot will be shipped insured and tracked using a seller selected shipping service. It will be shipped in two separate boxes. The Mac is double boxed and everything is protected with custom cut Styrofoam and bubble wrap. The lot is very well packed and ready to ship. I only ship to mainland USA and to Canada. Shipping fees, customs fees (if any applicable), duties (if any applicable) and taxes (if any applicable) are the responsibility of the buyer.
