Description: Magnificent Antique Framed Painting Native American Indian Canoe Lake Landscape. I am not certain if this is a hand painted painting or an old format camera type photograph with hand painted highlights. The original frame with glass panel cover measures 16 1/2" x 19 1/4" that fits artwork 14" x 16 3/4". The item is artist signed lower right, the signature looks like Jos. Jost which may refer to the artist Joseph Jost 1888-1969 who was best known for artwork during World War I. Very striking image of Native American man paddling hand made canoe on tranquil lake with tree lined horizon in the background. I acquired this many years ago at one of the weekly antique auctions I used to attend. The wood frame has a gesso plaster coating painted green & gold. Certainly well over 100 years old.
