Description: MAGNIFICENT Vintage Moscow Ballet RUSSIAN NUTCRACKER Hand Carved & Painted FOLK ART11" high and 5" wide at widest point [nutcracker handle to front]. Round base is 2 3/8" diameter.A VERY UNUSUAL nutcracker created with meticulous hand painted detailing and artistic flair in a traditional Russian Folk Art style. He is the classic Nutcracker in elegance and uniform. Highly collectible and unique. 100% hand carved and finished, with the mouth/handle fully functional. He seems to be carved from one solid piece of wood with the exception of the lever mouth. This is especially nice because there are no delicate or thin pieces to potentially break off, as with most nutcrackers He features richly jewel toned paint colors of vivid red and green, with gold gilt detailing. There are very small and carefully painted embellishments and swirls to his costume and hat, which actually look quite realistic. The hand painted details on his coat are incredible.He is lavishly decorated on all sides, so he looks fantastic from all anglesThe expression on his face is outstanding and he features large blue eyes with long painted eyelashesHe is standing on a pedestal which also has carved moldings and scoop cuts, and is painted with beautiful designs In excellent undamaged PRISTINE condition.
