Manuel Castellanos López is a Cuban artist who studied at the National School of Art (ENA) in Havana, Cuba, between 1965 and 1970. His first solo exhibition, "They Are as They Are," took place at the Gallery of Havana in 1976. In 1979, he presented his exhibition "Drawings and Engravings by Manuel Castellanos" at the Small Hall, National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba. He has received various awards for his work, including the "First Prize in Drawing/Second Prize in Engraving" at the National Salon of Teachers and Instructors of Plastic Arts in 1973, National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana. In 1974, he won the "First Prize in Drawing, IV National Youth Salon of Plastic Arts," National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana. En 1974 resultó "Primer Premio en Dibujo. IV Salón Nacional Juvenil de Artes Plásticas", Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, La Habana. En 1977 fue acreedor de "Mención de Honor". Bienal de Ilustraciones BIB’77, Bratislava, Checoslovaquia.
