Marshall Wells Rome Copper Tea Kettle 1894-1903 Tin Lined Lid W/Steel Bail Rare

Description: MARSHALL-WELLS HARDWARE 1894-1903 VINTAGE COPPER TEA KETTLEVintage Copper Tea Kettle 8-1/4" Diameter that's believed to be from Marshall-Wells Hardware Company circa-1894-1903. Mr. Marshall was left to continue the business after the death of the two Chief Officers C.W. Wells and his partner F.C. Stone both dying that same year. Marshall-Wells Hardware was born and eventually expanded into Canada and the Great Northwestern territories (Alaska). This is just one piece of a set that will be listed shortly. The Copper Tea Kettle with a copper plated tin lined lid, it was a Nickel Plated Steel Bail with a wood handle with Brass Shackles and it has numerous dings, scratches. The Wood knob is original but the worn rivet was replaced with a screw and Square nut. The Brass Bail shackles are Marked "Rome" which is believed to be from the Revere Ware & Brass Company. This early copper Tea Kettle would have been made by the Revere Ware and Brass Co. in Rome N.Y. on contract for the Marshall-Wells hardware Co. We've done a lot of research over the years and this is what we believe to be correct.
