Description: Rare original antique engraving print from an 1850s illustrated journal. It depicts an exhibition of Chinese Knife Throwing. Below the picture is an article on the subject that finishes on the back of the print.Knife throwing is an art, sport, combat skill, or variously an entertainment technique, involving an artist skilled in the art of throwing knives, the weapons thrown, and a target. In some stage performances, the knife thrower ties an assistant to the target, and throws to miss them. The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 15 inches (28 x 38 cm). The picture fills about half of it, measuring about 9x6.5 inches, with a caption below it. The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print.
