Description: Nice original condition 1959 Martin Indiana Deluxe Alto SN:71879 on offer. The horn plays well from top to bottom on newer tan leather pads with selmer-style moderately domed resonators. Action is decent with no key biding though a professional regulation would be recommended before gigging full time with this Indiana. The horn comes with an adjustable right hand thumb rest exactly like the Martin Committee horns and upgraded heart shaped left hand thumb rest found on rhe Committee I & II. The body of the horn is original lacquer with plenty of wear and pitting and some dings/minor dents present and maybe a very well resoldered low C key guard--no major past trauma found in the body or neck though the neck has much less original lacquer left. The matching serial number (71879) neck has a functional neck cork with a chunk missing and replacement wouldn't be out of order. Included in the listing is the original fully functional Martin case (with are appropriate smell) in good overall condition, an original metal body cap, the saxophone body and neck only.
