Description: MARVEL COLLECTOR’S CLUB NIGHTCRAWLER STATUE Released in 2003 by NECA under license from Marvel Characters Inc. for the Marvel Collector’s Club. Rarely offered. I don’t remember the details of what was involved with the Marvel Collector’s Club. I recall it was some sort of subscription plan where members were sent monthly packages of “swag.” However, I believe that this Nightcrawler statue was the incentive piece to get people to join. Limited to 2500 pieces of which this is numbered 1258. Box measures 11” x 9 1/2” x 9 3/4”. One month I remember receiving only a large manila envelope with photocopy sample pages of upcoming Marvel Comics. I think the Club went defunct soon after with promises of reorganizing, but it never happened & they never refunded members any balances. This statue has never been opened. It comes sealed in its original brown shipping box. It is my understanding that it does not come with the usual illustrated box, but that the figure & it’s stand are in a foam shell. The stand is numbered on its bottom. Please note that the last photo used here is taken from the Internet & is for informational purposes only to show what the statue looks like. Since this has never been opened, I am assuming that it is in its original new & unused condition. Packing seems solid & I don’t hear any pieces rattling around, but for clarity’s sake, I am selling this AS IS. While probably unnecessary since it was shipped in the box without any outer protection, I will be shipping this in a larger box to avoid any damage. I will also be placing additional insurance on it. Addendum: By bizarre coincidence, after posting the above, I found a one-page advertisement for this statue which I must have torn out of a comic to save. (I will now use it as the listing’s main photo). According to the ad copy, this is the third offering for the Collector’s Club & is based on art by Jim Lee & sculpted by Sam Greenwell & Rudy Garcia. 1/6th scale on a 7” diameter base. Original retail was $35 & included a one year membership to the Club.
