She was born in Weirton, West Virginia, the youngest of eight children, to parents John and Mary Kolanko. She had five older brothers. Her nickname was Klinky. Presented is an unofficial baseball autographed by Mary Louise Kolanko. She signed it on a side panel in black ink (“7-8”) with the inscription, “A.A.G.P.B.L.”. Also included is a baseball card of her autographed in black felt tip (“9”). The baseball card holder is broken.
