(The production opened October 20th, 1954 and ran for 152 performances.) ..... DETAILS: The typed letter was sent on October 13th, 1954 by MICHEL MOK to a lucky theatregoer receiving tickets for the October 21st, 1954 evening performance. MICHEL MOK (1889 - 1961) was a theatrical press agent and journalist. Born in the Netherlands, he immigrated to Canada and later to the U.S. where he worked as a reporter for the "New York Post". In the mid-1940's he associated himself with Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for whom he handled publicity, public relations and scheduling of major productions. He also translated "The Works of Anne Frank" for Doubleday. The typed note measures 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" inches. The backside is blank ...... CONDITION: With the exception of minor creasing, this rare correspondence is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
