Description: Master Piece Gallery resin doll by artist Joan Blackwood~ Summer Breeze. She was a 2004 nominee for "Dolls of Excellence Award" in the resin category. Summer Breeze is approx 35" from head to toe but is approx 17" when seated. The swing is approx 38" tall. The doll has blue eyes with applied dark brown eyelashes and brushed eyebrows. Her lips appear moist and natural in color. Her cheeks have a soft peachy glow. Her hair is a rich shiny brown that has a little red tint. Her head, neck, shoulders, arms, and legs are made of resin while the body is cloth. The resin almost has the appearance of wax and is very nice. Her arms are bent and her hands are formed so that she can hold on to the ropes of her swing. Her fingernails have a pretty color that is about the same color as the lips. Similarly, her toe nails are colored and look natural. Her legs are bent so that she sits nicely on the swing. Her legs and bare feet appear in a natural position. She is wearing a very nice plum colored dress that is smocked at the waistline. The front of the dress is embroidered with flowers. It has a white collar, puffed sleeves with white bows and a very full skirt. Over the dress is a white apron with eyelet and ribbon trim. She has a matching hat that ties with a ribbon under her chin. Under the dress is a slip of netting, satin, and lace, and white bloomers. The swing that comes with this doll consists of a wood base, a top, the swing itself, and two uprights that hold the top and the bottom together. It measures about 38" tall. The swing is decorated with flowers. Summer Breeze is signed and numbered on back of neck.
