They are high-quality American seasoned hardwood oak, double finished with high-quality stain and coated with three coats of industrial strength, clear epoxy. They are fashioned with high-quality brass mosaic pins. All of the materials are sourced locally. All of the hardware is high-quality machined 316 stainless steel. There is a 3/8 inch stainless steel spine running about 7 inches from the bottom of the handle towards the middle. This adds weight and balance as well as strength and durability. I use extremely high-quality industrial strength clear epoxy to coat them with and there is always at least a couple of very small bubbles or cosmetic, blemishes here and there. Nothing to freak out over and you can basically only see them under magnification. This pair of Chucks is absolutely 100% formidable and can easily cave a melon in with little or no effort at all. The wood is heated and then hammered into place. This is not an easy task, but it ensures that you will never have to reattach the handles on these. They are fixed in place with an exquisite 8mm bright red star of David mosaic pin on each bracket. As seen in the photos, it also includes a hand sewn Japanese silk carrying case.
