Description: Rare and sought after Mavic headset from the SSC & Zap groupsets, produced from 1989-1999. This headset features a unique locking collar system in place of a top race with wrench flats, which hides beneath the upper black ring. This came off a NOS De Rosa frame. It was installed but never technically used or ridden. Cosmetically, the headset is very nice though there are some very small marks on the top caps from someone with a heavy hand had a wrench and the plastic ring on the top portion has a few small, hairline cracks, which I have done my best to photograph. The ring still stays on no problem, though and you can’t see the cracks without being fairly close up. Ultrasonically cleaned and ready to install. 1” and Italian threads 25.4x25f.
