Description: Max Verboeket Kristalunie Maastricht Scandinavian Art Glass BowlMeasures 9" diameter x 7" tall Weighs 11 pounds 1 ounce without packaging This bowl is in excellent vintage condition. There are some minor surface scratches that were noted only on very close inspection, and some shelf wear on the bottom that are minor and consistent with age. As soon as he started his work at the Kristalunie in 1956, Max Verboeket set about the task of simplifying the company's older style designs and replacing them with simple and less-decorated forms. He worked with the expert glassblowers of the Kristalunie to create a range of free-form techniques inspired by the styles from Murano. With the arrival of the 60's, Verboeket set about innovating the product range with his KristalUniek ('Crystal Unique'), heavy organic forms and the clear glass contains threads of colour. Although they are nominally functional as vases and fruit bowls, the glass object itself is now the work of art. Verboeket stopped working for the Kristalunie after the merger with Leerdam in 1972. All information is carefully researched. Please confirm this independently prior to purchase.
