It features some incredible custom features such as "Mixed Gold" hybrid hardware, custom pickup covers, a wooden "M" headstock logo, and a Trans Dirty Brown Burst Gloss finish reminiscent of your favorite brew of coffee. Offering some of the highest quality craftsmanship we've ever come across, Mayones is building some absolutely killer guitars that have not just metal rockers turning their heads to take note. The neck on this 7-string is super comfortable and will require little-to-no adjustment if you're a 6-string slinger. The low-B is tight, punchy, and really brings the thunder. The extended scale length lets you easily downturn to an A without worrying about string wobble or ugly fret-slapping. Even if it's your first baritone or your first extended range guitar, the adjustment period is really minimal. Of course, the excellent design is propelled even further by the excellent craftsmanship on this one. The custom-wound, Mayones-exclusive Bare Knuckle TKO 7 pickup set, while designed for high-gain chug, surprised the players here at the shop with their awesome clarity on clean settings, especially with the coil-split on the volume control. Of course, the TKOs excelled the most at distorted riffage, and we were very pleased with how both single notes and chords sounded huge without getting muddy. The set in this particular guitar also looks extra awesome with the custom Carbon covers. A simple master volume control (with push/pull coil-splitting capability) makes this a no-fuss 7-string shredder's axe that always sounds great and won't leave you with any hand fatigue after long sessions or shows. The Bare Knuckle TKO pickups are specifically designed for Mayones. They are high output and each set is custom wound for the specific model that it's going into. Bare Knuckle decided to use a combination of ceramic powered bridge humbucker and Alnico V powered neck humbucker. This produces an excellent combination of power and range of tone, producing 3 very distinct tones from bridge, bridge/neck and neck selections on the pickup selector. Mayones guitars are extremely resonant due to the choice of premium timbers and construction methods and it was important that the pickups capitalised on this naturally rich, percussive tone. The ‘TKO’ bridge has plenty of output, bass notes track very quickly, mid range is punchy and highs sound full with plenty of weight behind each note.
