Description: Vintage figural metal inkwell in the shape of a medieval Knight's head wearing a hinged helmet that opens to reveal his face and the inkwell inside. This Knight's helmet has a reticulated visor and a plume of three metal feathers on the back. When you press down on the feathers, the helmet lifts up showing the Knight's frowning face. The gold rimmed inkwell on his head has a 1.5" diameter opening; the inkpot insert is missing. The metal Knight is mounted to a black wood base that has a gold metal insert that fits a quill pen. The front of the base has a metal plaque reading "1423". The piece measures 7" tall by 5" wide by 7.5" deep, and weighs 2.75 lbs. An excellent old figural inkwell for your collection or desktop.
