This punch shape is one of the most popular shapes currently on the market. Up until now it only came in the Mega size. The Punch Bunch has just released this Lily Petals in the MEDIUM Size, much to the delight of those who have been using the mega size. I am showing it here along side the mega for comparison. This one punch cuts out 4 different size petal shapes (from 3/8 to 3/4 long) at one time so you can make four different size flowers or combine the sizes for a fuller look. The medium size makes a flower roughly half the size of the mega size. For PERFECT leaves for this flower simply punch the petals out in any shade of green. If you punch the petals in red it makes a fantastic poinsettia, especially if you draw in veins with a gold gel pen. I am showing the sample as a very dimensional flower but these shapes would also work wonderfully flat in scrapbooks. The possibilities are endless with this one. The paper I used here is the quilling paper in sheets from the variety package. The center is the medium Big Sky Flake3. Having both sizes of this punch will allow you to create lilies in a total of 8 different sizes. This smaller size is also great for making lilies that are the perfect size for tags or small enclosure cards. I carry over 350 styles, sizes, and shapes of punches in the store. For colorant use chalks...my favorite....paints, gel pens, markers, colored pencils, washes, or even in a pinch eye shadows or blush. Veins can be inscribed into the shape using a fine tip embossing tool. Any tool that is similar and has a round smooth tiny ball on the end will work. Once the veins are drawn on I lightly color the leaf in a darker color. The darker color makes the veins stand out more. Then add in other colors from the inner parts of the leaf to the outer edges.This same process works on any kind of leaf. For instance use a cream colored leaf...adding in veins...then chalking in the very center with another color ........green, dk brown, or even light orange.....and finish off the outside edges with a very dark or even black color to result in very Fall like looking leaves. Use other color variations for different seasonal looks. I also use this process to add color to the center or outside edges of some of the flower shapes before assembling them and it gives that subtle blending of color that adds so much to the realistic look. This is a regular plunger style punch and is open on the underside so you can see exactly where you are punching. The length of the petals are as follows, the largest measures 3/4 inch and the smallest measures 5/8 inch, with the other two falling in between. All the punches I sell are brand new; however I do open them and punch one or two shapes to make sure they work properly. This way I know that they are in perfect condition when they leave my possession. If you feel this testing will change the condition from new to used, please specify and I will not check yours.
