Description: Meissen 'Dot Period' Porcelain Hand Painted Cup with Florals & Fruits, Germany C.1732-1773 Exquisite antique Meissen porcelain Academic or 'Dot' period coffee-tea cup, circa 1732-1773.Meissen porcelain or Meissen china was the first European hard-paste porcelain. Finely hand painted with images of florals & fruits. Embossed (raised) porcelain design beneath top rim.Gilding on footed base of cup, handle and along top rim. Cup Height: 2 3/4 inchesCup Width (top rim): 2 5/8 inchesCup Width (with handle): 3 3/4 inches Marked on the bottom with the underglaze blue crossed swords and dot. The 'Meissen Dot Period' was marked by a dot between the crossed swords. A chart showing Meissen marks (with dates) is included in photos. CONDITION: VERY FINE. No cracks, no restoration, no staining, no crazing.
