Description: Stunning pie dish made by Seagrove, North Carolina potter Melvin Lee M.L. Owens (1918-2003) sometime in the mid-century. Undated and only signed "Owens" but the signature is attributed to Melvin Lee. Heavy, extremely well-made pie dish using red NC clay and a stunning green-blue matte glaze. It is in very good condition. There are some glaze skips around rim and on plate as shown in the photos (one skip may be a glaze flake). There is also a small glaze chip on the base.
