Description: The late Don Warning introduced the Memories of Santa collection to all the good boys and girls in 1983 and ultimately produced 139 unique Santa ornaments. This series was initially inspired by Warning's own collection of antique chocolate molds. Later, he found inspiration in early chromolithographs, old post cards, antique trading cards, magazines, books, and other collectable items that were reminiscent of bygone eras. This Santa was inspired by a magazine ad by the Royal Baking Powder Company around 1910--notably, one of the first national ads to depict African Americans in a positive manner. This Santa has both a tray and backpack full of biscuits, suggesting his approval of the baking powder made by this company. Below the ad was text that read, "The FOREMOST BAKING POWDER in all the WORLD!" All things considered, this vintage Christmas ornament is in good condition, without any unusual wear, or any chips, cracks, or broken parts. The collection sticker on bottom does have a tear in it (see photo), and there is a loose fragment inside the figurine which makes a slight sound when the ornament is handled (you may be able to carefully open the bottom and remove it, but this shouldn't be necessary).
