Mizrachi never left Israel and hardly left the city of Tel Aviv, where he lived alone. Dealt with painting and drawing.Biography and workIn his childhood, Mizrachi became ill with polio, a disease that distorted his body. Between 1977 and 1980 he studied at the Avni Institute of Art in Tel Aviv. Immediately after completing his studies, he taught at the Institute from 1981 to 1986, after which he moved to teach at Meimad school for visual arts, and at the Bat Yam Art Institute. Among his outstanding students are the artists Miriam Cabessa, Meirav Sudai and Marilou Levin. Between 1992 and 2002 he had five solo exhibitions, all at the Gordon Gallery in Tel Aviv. His paintings, which tend toward expressionism, focus on the human figure and his existential situation in urban space. A series of paintings of a model in the room express the alienation between the bare room and the naked model. A series of paintings of a man on the street, which are in fact a self portrait of the artist, express the alienation felt by the individual person, every person, in a big city. In this series of paintings, the man stood thin and bent in a gray, rainy city. A central factor in his paintings is the intense light characteristic of the Israeli painting. In order to create textures on canvas, he collected materials from the street, such as residues left over on the road after rain and mixed them with colors. In his remarks about his third solo exhibition ("Metropoline") at the Gordon Gallery, he wrote: “ I did not want to use the illustration and did not want to be an illustrator of philosophy books. I did not want to convey ideas in a phlegmatic way, and yet I wanted to say things aesthetically and to maintain painterly values. My painting comes from two motivations. One is the city, the metropolis, which in its concrete walls, in its endless movement, in the mass media it produces, its materials and its materialism dwarfs the individual. And the second is the person who struggles in it. The person who is influenced by the recognition and subconsciousness of contemporary urban culture, by the video-clipping and fake media culture that it produces. My painting is personal. It is neither realistic nor naturalistic. I express myself through the society around me and through the surrounding environment. I take urban materials from different places and connect them to a new environment that serves as a backdrop for life in one frame.” Payment Methods: PayPal, Credit Card (Visa, Master Card), Bank Cheque.
