This listing is for an absolutely stunning looking, men's vintage Seiko Chronograph digital watch with the serial 736480 on the caseback and the movement number A904 5009. This watch is definitely vintage, but it's really hard to determine the exact manufacturing date based on Seiko's serial numbers because it only dates a watch accurately within the decade it was made. For example, when I look up the serial numbers for this watch, it tells me it was made in March of either 1977, 1987,1997, and so forth. Based on design, I'd guess this watch to most likely be a 1987 model, but I could be off by a decade either way. It looks 1980s to me, and I was a teenager back then, so I do remember the fashion of the day. Anyhow, as far as appearances, this watch is incredible. I've not been able to replace the battery, however. due to the caseback style and my inability to open it, which is why I will accept returns on this watch. The caseback looks like a snap back at first glance, but boy, is it on there. I've included photos of the caseback, because it's really heavy-duty for a snapback case and sealed airtight. I can't get anything in there to leverage it. I've decided to leave opening of the case to a professional because if I don't, one of several things will happen. I may succeed in getting the caseback off, but I'll mark up the watch in the process. This watch looks barely worn, so I really don't want to do that. Not to mention, if I get the caseback off, I probably won't be able to get it back on, as I have this problem with nearly every snapback case I open. The second thing that could happen is that I won't get the caseback off, but I will still have marked up this near pristine the case, and in the process, I will have ruined the watch's major appeal. The third thing that could happen is that I get the caseback off, and not only mark up the watch, but actually break it in the process of either opening it or trying to close it again. I've accomplished every single one of these things in the past and I don't want to risk any of these happening again, especially to a vintage watch with almost no visible wear. For this reason, I'm leaving battery replacement to the buyer, to be done within 30 days of delivery. If the watch doesn't work, then all the buyer has to do is let me know so we can arrange a return. This way the buyer has nothing to lose other than a little bit of hassle in returning the watch, and as lovely and rare as this watch is, I think it's worth the risk of that small effort. I've tried to take detailed pictures to capture the excellent condition of this watch. As far as verbal descriptions go, I can say that there are no scuffs or marks on the crystal/screen. The case has only the lightest of abrasions, if even that, and I've been studying it under the magnification of a jeweler's loop. The watch band is in great condition. It has a sort of matte finish and isn't very reflective. There are a couple of tiny spots on the clasp cover, but that's about the only visible sign of wear that doesn't require magnification to see. The pictures hopefully convey the condition of the watch much better than my words, so be sure to view them, as the pictures are to be considered as part of the description. Please review all the images for a better idea of condition and use the zoom feature. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Shipping will be $4.50 USPS insured first class, and i would be more than willing to combine shipping. I don't offer a return policy, but... i will stand behind my listings. if i make a mistake on my listing, or i misunderstand an item or miss a relevant flaw on the items listed, i will do ANYTHING in my power to make things right for the buyer, so bid with confidence.
