This is not damage or a defect - it's how they show up from Mahle. Our kit includes an extra seal only because these come from Mahle with the Fuel Filter (which is used on other year Mercedes diesels). Don't add the extra o-ring to your bolt if it isn't there already - this can cause a leak!
