Mexican Revolution Border War - General Blanco's Men - Real Photo Postcard 1911

Description: Original Real Photo Postcard image of General Blanco's Soldiers taken in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico in May 1911 during the Battle of Juarez which took place during the very beginning of the Mexican Revolution. Pancho Villa was involved in this battle and made a name for himself. Juarez is directly across the Rio Grande River from El Paso, Texas. A very clear image showing great detail of Mexican Revolutionaries with Colt and Smith & Wesson Single Action Revolvers and what appears to be Winchester Rifles and German Mausers Rifles. A number of the men are wearing Bandoliers. The card is in excellent condition with no creases or bends. Postally unused. Has album paper glued to the back. Postage includes full coverage insurance Born in Chihuahua on November 17, 1866, Jose de la Luz Blanco joined the Francisco Madero revolutionaries in 1910 and was a very able assistant to Madero in Chihuahua. He became a commanding general under Madero and General Pancho Villa and was greatly involved in the capture of Juárez during the Battle of Juarez in May 1911. General Blanco led Maderista revolutionary forces against the federal garrisons in northern Sonora in 1910 and 1911. He was the commnader of all revolutionary forces for attacks on the border in Sonora and in the interior areas of the central portion of the state. He was successful in capturing Agua Prieta in April 1911. In February of 1913 General Blanco and his adjutant were captured by Rebel Leaders Rojas and Caraveo while riding behind the command of 500 men which left Madera, Chihuahua. The rebels took them off into the hills and later to the Babicora ranch, where they are said by American Railroad workers in Chihuahua to have been hanged and then shot by the rebel soldiers on February 18th, 1913. The First Battle of Ciudad Juárez took place in April and May 1911 between federal forces loyal to President Porfirio Díaz and rebel forces of Francisco Madero, during the Mexican Revolution. Pascual Orozco and Pancho Villa commanded Madero's army, which besieged Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. After two days of fighting the city's garrison surrendered and Orozco and Villa took control of the town. The fall of Ciudad Juárez to Madero, combined with Emiliano Zapata's taking of Cuautla in Morelos, convinced Díaz that he could not hope to defeat the rebels. As a result, he agreed to the Treaty of Ciudad Juárez, resigned and went into exile in France, thus ending the initial stage of the Mexican Revolution. I have been collecting real photo postcard images of Far West Texas for over thirty years and have decided to start selling some of my treasures so that other collectors can enjoy them. They will not be cheap because of the rarity of the cards. Also, because of the time and trouble I have invested in them. I traveled tens of thousands of miles to different towns and cities throughout Texas and some other states going to postcard, book and paper, collector and gun shows. Checking out antique shops and second hand stores. Going to auctions before eBay existed and spending tens of thousands of hours culling through hundreds of thousands of postcards. Then came eBay and I have spent over ten thousand hours going through hundreds of thousands of postcards. I paid dearly for the items I offer on eBay as a collector, what I am trying to say is the search, finding, buying, storing and protecting took a lot of time, money and effort. I might end up having my collection cataloged and then selling it to an academic institution to realize the biggest return on my investment, but I will wait to see how it goes on eBay first.
