Description: For sale this beautiful MFA Pin/Brooch of Ancient Egyptian Goddess, Sekhmet. It measures 2 inches by 1/2 inch. Pin is in very good working condition. This brooch is marked "MFA" on back. (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston MA). It is in good vintage 1976 condition. It has been in my family since it was purchased at MFA. Sekhmet can also take on the image of a lion head with human body or be a complete lionesse. A Solar Disk and Uraeaus Serpent often adorns her head. She is the daughter to the sun god, RA. She is best known for her wild powers of destruction and war. However, she is one of the more honored goddess and beyond her more fierce reputation was also a great healer and protector.
